In the Springtime a bee hive can double in its colony size in 30 days. Because the flowers bloom "suddenly" in the spring both pollen and nectar become abundant and both help jumpstart honey storage and feeding the new bees. Bees naturally want to expand and sometimes humans get in the way of their plans!
